Publive MCP Connector — Terms of Service

Applies to: the Publive MCP connector (mcp.thepublive.com) — the integration that lets an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude read and manage your Publive content on your instruction.

These terms govern your use of the connector. They are narrower than, and do not replace, the agreement under which you use the Publive platform itself. Where the two conflict on a matter concerning the Publive platform, your Publive platform agreement governs.

By connecting the connector to an AI assistant, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not connect it.

1. What the connector is

The connector is a bridge, not a store. It holds the Publive API credentials you supply, and uses them to call the Publive CDS and CMS APIs on your behalf when you ask a connected AI assistant to do something with your content. It adds no content of its own and keeps no copy of your content.

Everything the connector can reach, it reaches as you — using your credentials, inside your own Publive tenant, subject to the same permissions you already have.

2. Who may use it

You may use the connector if:

  • you hold a valid Publive account, and
  • the API credentials you supply are ones you are authorised to use, and
  • you are able to enter into a binding agreement, either for yourself or on behalf of the organisation whose credentials you supply.

The connector is offered to publishers established outside the EU and EEA. See the privacy policy §9.

3. Your credentials

You are responsible for the credentials you supply and for everything done with them through the connector.

  • Supply only credentials you are authorised to use, and only for your own tenant.
  • Treat the connection as you would treat those credentials: whoever can use the connected AI assistant can do whatever the connection permits.
  • If a credential is compromised, revoke the connection (§8) and rotate the key in Publive.

Both credential pairs are optional and at least one is required. A CDS-only connection can only read. Supplying a CMS pair grants the connection the ability to change and delete content in your tenant — grant it deliberately.

How credentials are stored and encrypted is described in the privacy policy §4.

4. Confirmation gates are a safeguard, not a guarantee

Content-changing tools do not write on their first call: creates and updates return a preview, publishing requires a further confirmation, and deletions require two explicit flags. This is documented in the connector documentation.

These gates exist to make an unintended change hard. They do not make one impossible, and they are not a substitute for your own review. You are responsible for the changes you confirm. Review a preview before confirming it, and do not instruct an assistant to confirm writes on your behalf without reading them.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use the connector to:

  • access, change, or delete content in a Publive tenant that is not yours, or with credentials you are not authorised to use;
  • probe, scan, or attempt to bypass the connector's authentication, credential scoping, or confirmation gates, or to reach a service whose credential pair the connection does not hold;
  • place load on the connector or on the Publive APIs beyond what your ordinary editorial use requires, including automated bulk traffic that is not driven by a person;
  • publish, through your Publive instance, content that is unlawful, infringing, or that breaches your Publive platform agreement;
  • handle another person's password or password reset through an AI assistant. The connector deliberately exposes no tool that can do this.

We may suspend or terminate a connection that breaches this section.

6. Your content

Your content stays yours. We claim no right in it, and the connector does not use it to train any model. Content the connector reads is returned to the AI assistant you connected and is otherwise not retained.

What your AI provider does with a tool result once it is returned is governed by that provider's terms, not by these. Sending your content to an AI assistant is your decision and your provider relationship.

7. Availability and change

The connector is provided as it is, without an availability commitment or service-level guarantee. It depends on the Publive CDS and CMS APIs, which have their own availability, and on infrastructure we do not operate.

We may change, add, or remove tools, and may change these terms. Material changes to these terms will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above and, where the change affects how credentials are stored or what a connection can do, announced before taking effect. Continuing to use the connector after a change takes effect is acceptance of it.

We may withdraw the connector entirely, on reasonable notice where it is practical to give it.

8. Ending the connection

You may end a connection at any time, and doing so deletes the credentials stored for it:

  • disconnect the connector in your AI assistant;
  • POST https://mcp.thepublive.com/revoke with the token (RFC 7009);
  • or sign out at https://mcp.thepublive.com/connect.

We may end a connection where these terms are breached, where a credential appears compromised, or where we withdraw the connector.

Ending a connection does not undo content changes already made through it. Those are changes to your own Publive instance and are managed there.

9. Disclaimer

The connector is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

An AI assistant is a probabilistic system. It can misread an instruction, call the wrong tool, or supply the wrong argument. We do not warrant that a connected assistant will interpret your instruction correctly, and the confirmation gates in §4 are the reason to review before confirming.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary loss, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the connector.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The competent courts at Publive's registered office have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any competent court.
